Shaping Art’s Path from Studio to Market
with a Critical Eye

Crafting Stories, Building Brands, Connecting with Meaning

Laurie Rojas is a cultural mediator, independent art critic, and grant writing expert based in Miami. With an international background spanning Berlin, London, New York, and Chicago, Laurie brings nearly two decades of experience in art criticism, writing, editing and strategic consulting. Formerly the Grants Program Manager at Locust Projects, she now focuses on independent art writing, editorial consulting, and grant services.

As the founding editor of Caesura—an independent publication that rethinks art criticism—Laurie has cultivated a unique space for discourse at the intersection of art, politics, and criticism. Laurie’s work has been featured in major international art publications such as The Art Newspaper, Artnet.com, Artsy, Artbasel.com, BMW Art Guide, Sotheby’s Magazine, and the Financial Times. She also worked as the senior editor of Spike Art Magazine during her time in Berlin.

With an extensive journalism background, Laurie has conducted over 200 interviews, gaining deep insights into the art world. She combines her intellectual scholarly approach with a genuine love for connecting with people from all walks of life, making her a natural at moderating public panels and discussions that foster meaningful conversations in the global art ecosystem.

Her recent work includes the publication of her essay Gothic: The Return of the Repressed in the book Cases of Citation: On Literature in Art (2024), and the forthcoming publication of her graduate thesis on confronting the “death” of art criticism.
